Thanks for starting this, Jenny. This is a great idea. Okay, here goes the questions. Ive done photography on the side for years and still have a ways to go. Id like to get into the alternative processes, starting with tea-stained cyanotypes, then wetplate, then who knows. For now, Ive replicated these old processes in Photoshop. Lately, Ive been mainly shooting with my iPhone, sometimes with Lomography toy cameras, and way back I shot with vintage cameras. Ive shot some with high end 35mm dslr and hope to buy a new one soon. And at some point hopefully get into large format film cameras. So, various questions. What have you heard about the value and respect of archival pigment prints (inkjet/glicee) versus alternative process prints and darkroom prints? In Columbus, OH, I remember one gallery saying they only showed (not sure the term) unique originals. So no inkjet prints. How was it in Santa Fe as an artist? Was it over-saturated with artists? Too hard to get noticed or in galleries? How is it there in Florida? Are there places that seem ideal to be an artist? Places that seem non-ideal? Do you have any advice in general in getting started? Are there any sites or articles that have good advice? Thanks ahead of time everybody for any and all answers.
