Thanks to Jason Hancox for an amazing night out seeing former Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett on the final night of his Genesis Extended tour. Steve and his more than able bandmates brought classic Peter Gabriel era Genesis songs to life in fine style, even braving a brief power outage at the Vogue theatre to return to full strength within a few minutes once the power returned. In the interim, Hackett showed off with some impromptu pushups. We had front row seats which made the whole experience truly memorable. These tickets were also to have included a meet and greet with Steve, but they didnt mention that it was held in the afternoon, so we kinda missed out there. Not to worry, however, as they let us backstage to say hi and we ended up in one of the most hilariously awkward situations as we waited for Steve to chat with someone who was probably his auntie or something. It was obviously a mostly family affair backstage, but we did make the most of the social strangeness as may be evidenced by some pictures Im hoping Jason will share with yall. A night to remember!
