Thanks to all for your ideas on making vegan biscuits. Here is my experiment for the day: perfectly crisp aata biscuits (made with no butter, no milk). Recipe: 1 cup aata 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 2 tbsp sugar or agave nectar (adjust to taste) 2 tbsp coconut oil 1/4 cup coconut milk Mix all dry ingredients with solid coconut oil until crumbly. Add coconut milk slowly until you have a firm dough. Roll out into a rectangle (about 8 by 6 inches). Cut into biscuit-sized pieces; indent with fork. Bake at 425 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden brown on top. Let them cool for 10 minutes on wire rack. Simple. Quick. And perfect for tea time!
