Thanks to all the folks who motored all the way down to Plover in Portage County this morning from Iron and Ashland Counties. Thats a haul for folks trying to speak up on behalf of the resolutions that were passed by solid majorities in the Conservation Congress meetings of the springtime. Good to see the Matusewicz representation, along with a young woman whose name I didnt catch, also Sally Lacy and a number of other folks came from some distance to speak up. I have to say, the Environmental Committee was a serious disappointment to me, I dont know how anyone else took it. I was like, who are all these old white men without a whole lot of fire in their belly to act as an advisory committee. Who is applying pressure on these men? Also, side note--in light of the recent stories about Nestle stealing water for bottling from drought-stricken California, the presence of loads and loads of plastic bottled water added a kind of Dadaist overtone to the proceedings... stop makin sense, yall.
