Thanks to everyone who attended the Strategy Meeting today! The next large group meeting will Sat. Jan. 17 at 1:30 pm in Minden. Here are some highlights from todays meeting: Different teams are working on outreach to community organizations and groups, gathering petition signatures, generating more calls and emails to elected officials, outreach to churches and pastors, gathering stories, a new press release for Monday, and working to get questions answered about the new proposed trial burn. There have been at least 28 media stories so far, including in places such as Houston, Portland, and Phoenix. Our petition signatures are over 1300 now. If you are a pastor or know a pastor, please talk to Ron Hagar or Deedee Lynch about the pastors meeting(s) happening this week to engage local churches. A paper copy of the petition are attached here (and Ill also attach the call action sheet) for download, so folks can print them off and collect signatures (printed/legible) and ask your friends to call the elected officials. A simple flyer is coming soon. Please let April Dahm know if you are collecting paper petition signatures, because she is coordinating that effort.
