Thanks to the BEST page EVER David Bowie- Starman for this...And art is outside of taxonomies of art. Art is hard to talk about, at first, or to evaluate, because art doesn’t fall into a particular set of standards, it’s the category beyond standards. You cant!... I love the nebulous nature of art. It is not until you interact with it can you then have any hope of making sense of it. It is the gift of the interaction that you provide with your Art ;-) in all of its different shapes, forms and textures..A few things you said in the last reply really hit home and suggested to me the discipline of an artist like Bowie, his askesis, and his precise use of the oblique as a strategy to generate his art. What I mean goes back to what you say about autobiography and the idea that the less autobiographical writing or music is, the more truly autobiographical it can become. I adore this theory about the less you try to do something the more apparent it becomes. It takes some getting your head round it or putting your finger on it or it did in my case!:-D :-D as I had to illustrate practice of this theory. It is the unconscious mind that becomes apparent and surfaces. It is begging for inquiry from my experience ;-) ...my lovely ;-) Xxx
