Thanksgiving. Such a thought provoking day of the other 364 days out of the year. We are beyond 5 and of course we know that everything wasnt kosher with the white man stealing land that wasnt theirs. The casualties on both sides and the half assed appeasement made of lands for the original inhabitants. Above that though, youd think, we shouldnt need a day to make you stop and go Wow, Im thankful!. Suffering is all around us. Someones day was empty. Either with loss or bitter meant. Im sure our jolly well wishing may hurt or anger them. For that Im sorry and as a FB friend or a real time friend, I hate seeing the suffering. My heart weeps with you and your unjust pain. I truly wish I could just take an ounce off of everyones load. But I cant. Even though Im thankful for every day. No matter how hard I pout or ponder. Life is rough. Its brutal. A battlefield. We dont all get The best of the harvests of life, sadly, its hard to be thankful when your world is falling apart. So to those of you, Im sorry today found you weary, lost and just not ready to be Thankful. That used to be me. Some days that old person tries to pop out but for the most part Ive made it without going completely mad while struggling. So Im ready to be thankful and more so, graciously thankful, so everyday if you see even the slightest blip of hope to arise... Grab hold and be thankful to see a shimmering sign that some how, some way, youre going to beat the hell out of life right back. Every day there should be one thing that got you through that day. Everyday should be a time for giving thanks. A time for reflection. Not once a year. Daily. Once a year celebrate your 365 days of little thanks [or big ones] with those who mean something to you and your life here. Have a huge veg out. Drink too much wine and laugh at stupid things.
