Bereas 32-20 win on the road over Eastside on Friday night showed how far the Bulldogs have progressed and once again spotlighted Bereas productive running back, Stevie Williams. More importantly, the Bulldogs survived some setbacks in defeating the Eagles in a Peach Blossom AAA Region game at John Carlisle Stadium. We put the ball on the ground a lot, which is something we hadnt been doing, and we gave up a couple of big plays in the passing game, Berea coach Wayne Green said. But I thought our guys played extremely hard. Berea (3-5, 2-3) has improved on defense and in its running game, Green said. Williams, a junior, finished with 33 carries for 340 yards and four touchdowns. He now has surpassed 2,000 yards through eight games this season. Weve shown sparks of being a good football team periodically in every game weve played, Green said. Weve not always sustained it.
