That awkward moment when your cousin-in-law (the genealogy expert) - TopicsExpress

That awkward moment when your cousin-in-law (the genealogy expert) helps you track down where your great-great-grandfather is buried in Lynchburg, VA, and along the way discovers his family owned 14 slaves (according to the 1860 census.) The upside is finding a photo of his grandfathers tombstone in Kentucky that says he served in the Revolutionary War. This will make Nancy happy, since she is after me to just fill out the forms for the Daughters of the American Revolution ALREADY! Seriously - its not a great moment. I never wanted to believe my family fit that stereotype. History is what it is.
