That core of our earliest exposures to Christian-Judeo beliefs and practices might lie deeply buried in us, so deeply that we can be unaware of its presence—especially if we buried it there intentionally, out of rebellion against our upbringing. But the fact that we don’t often look at it doesn’t mean it’s not still there. Even if our early religious experiences were negative, and even if the institutions that carry these traditions today are embroiled in corruption and demagoguery (and they are), deep within them there is still, beneath it all, a rich heart of wisdom that has been beating, quietly, for several thousand years. buddhistgeeks/2010/08/christian-buddhism/
