That lake down there... ....its dangerous...its taken so many lives... ...I came home...because I needed it.. ..because it is beautiful..wild..amazing .. ..I felt..like I was dying in a static world... ...the lake is still frozen..silent ..except when you are near..you can hear.. ..it groans..you can watch it breathe .. ..under the ice it even has no idea..which was it goes.. ..I love my lake..she scares me.. ..when I know I need to feel wiped clean for at least a few moments.. ..I go to her.. ...yeh..sometimes with the Who blasting Quadrophenia in my car.. ....ok ..almost always.. ...its not an ocean..its an inland sea.. .....I stand the closest I can get.. ...Im getting older now.. ...so I dont get as close as I used to.. .....and I listen...til I want to run.. .....and every hair on my neck stands up... ...I couldnt live without her..I never will again... ..I think of the under tow..the currents that take you away...I find the thought comforting..sometimes..
