That most enchanted night of the year is just around the corner. A night when the veil between the spirit world and the physical world is the thinnest, and ghoulies and ghosties roam the streets looking for a bite. Whether throwing a party, watching a horror movie marathon, or tending the door, it is vital to have some snacks available that are not only holiday appropriate, but not packed full of sugar. Here are some fun finger foods that fit the bill quite appropriately! And they are really easy. And kids LOVE them. To make the mummy dogs, simply wrap vegan hot dogs in crescent roll dough from a tube (many are accidentally vegan) after unrolling the dough and slicing into thin ribbons. I use toasted sesame seeds for the eyes. Bake at 350 degrees just until the dough turns a light golden color. The cut off finger dogs are super simple. Simply cut a white onion into finger nail shapes and boil just until translucent. Cut the vegan dogs in half and score them with a knife to resemble the wrinkles of the knuckles. Boil or steam and use a drop of ketchup to attach a nail to each one. The Q-Tips are really gross looking but tasty! Find popsicle sticks or white cocktail straws and cut vegan marshmallows into Q-Tip sized shapes, press them into the ends and dip the tip in peanut butter. Display as shown. And everyone loves a puking pumpkin. No recipe needed. Just some good quality guacamole, a carved pumpkin and some tortilla chips. I use blue corn chips for added effect. These treats are delicious, healthy, and fun to make, serve, and eat. And best of all, they are easy, quick, and inexpensive. Have a wickedly fun Halloween everyone! And thanks for your continued support. Please share this with your friends.
