That was not much of an earthquake. It was only 4.4 and people are rattled? You guys should have been here for the Whittier Narrows and Northridge Earthquakes. Those were real earthquakes. Having said that, USGS is saying that this could be a precursor to bigger quake that could hit at any time within the next 3 days. If that is the case then the main quake could be up to an 8.0 If you felt this one, just imagine what an 8.0 will be like. It will more likely be an 6.0 or thereabouts. Should that be the case, make sure you have a table or a desk to get under as this is the best method of preventing injury to yourself. It will protect you from flying debris and glass. Make sure you have adequate bottled water as tap water may be unsafe in the aftermath of a major quake. Make sure you have your important documents in one place in case you need to grab them and go. The most important thing is to remain calm and collected. I see too many people who panic over the small stuff. Just imagine what they will do when a major quake strikes. Once the shaking stops, calmly and efficiently execute your organisations evacuation plan. If you dont have one, now would be the time to create one. But until then, there is nothing to worry about. Just make sure you are ready in case this is just a fore shock.
