The $1.2 billion Central Asia South Asia Electricity Transmission and Trade Project (CASA-1000) reached an important milestone on December 3 when the four participating countries reached an agreement on pricing and all major points in the core project agreements during meetings in Istanbul. СASA-1000 demonstrates landmark cooperation among the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. The CASA-1000 transmission system will help transform the region and represents an important step toward realizing the vision of Central Asia South Asia Regional Electricity Market.
