The 13th Anniversary of the World Trade Center disaster is this Thursday, September 11. Captain Jeff Baker of the Port Huron Police Department invites residents to a Service of Remembrance Thursday at 9 a.m. at the International Flag Plaza north of the Blue Water Bridge. The service memorializes those who willingly gave their lives trying to rescue others. 343 firefighters and 72 police officers made the ultimate sacrifice that day 13-years ago in New York. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the Port Huron City Council Chambers at 100 McMorran Blvd.
