The 1930s were in black and white apart from Oz which was in technicolor , the 1940s were completely black and white whereas the 50s were the same colour as toys from the same era, the 1960s were in black and white but burst I to colour in the 1970s - but strangely only when pop stars were around . The 1980s were in full colour but it was blurred at the edges and the 90s were in full colour . The 21st century appear to be a flat screen digital type of colour where everyone is the same as they are in real life . How is our perception of history affected by the quality of film used to record it ?
