The 2013 Monthly Society Calendar Our 20th Year Serving LA and OC Audiophiles December: 20TH ANNIVERSARY SOCIETY GALA AND AWARDS BANQUET - December 8th, 2013 The Founders Award will be presented to Robert Harley, Editor of TAS, at the 20th Annual Society Gala and Awards Banquet on Sunday, December 8th, 2013, in Los Angeles. Big News: Alan Taffel, 11 year veteran reviewer for TAS, will do the Pre-note Speech at the Gala. Other major reviewers on the staff of TAS will give Introduction, and Keynote Speeches. Richard Beers, President of THE SHOW Newport will also speak. Robert H. (Bob) Levi, now in his tenth year as President of the Society, will be the Master of Ceremonies. BIG NEWS: Ray Kimber to receive the new Humanitarian Award! PLUS, Neil Gader, Robert Greene, and Paul Seydor will be there from The Absolute Sound!!! You do not have to be a member to come to the Gala. Gala scheduled Sunday, December 8th, 11 AM - 3:30 PM. Grand Ballroom, Holiday Inn, Buena Park. Huge Holiday Raffle and lavish buffet lunch. Free parking. The 2014 Society Calendar Our 21st Year Serving LA and OC Audiophiles. Over 1400 members! January: Saturday, January 25th, 5-8 PM: The Los Angeles & Orange County Audio Society will hold its monthly meeting at Audio Element in Pasadena (117 East Union Street). The newest audio emporium to open in Southern California, Audio Element is headed by Brian Berdan. Luke Manley of VTL will be on hand to demonstrate his newest products including the S-200 Stereo Reference Amplifier and the TL-7.5 Line Stage Preamplifier. Vinyl will be spun on the Monaco Turntable from Grand Prix Audio and digital will be played on DCS gear. David Carr from Sound Organization will be discussing Rega products. Plus, a special appearance by Joe Kubala, President of Kubala-Sosna Research. Audio Elements has an outstanding selection of new and used vinyl for the members to purchase. A raffle is being planned and dinner will be served. Guests, visitors and new members are invited. February: Sunday, February 23rd, 2-5 PM: The Los Angeles & Orange County Audio Society will hold its monthly meeting at Scott Walker Audio in Anaheim (1215 North Tustin Avenue.) The demonstration will feature the latest products from McIntosh, including the C2500 tube preamplifier, the MT5 turntable, the MAC6700 receiver, the McAire integrated audio system, and the D100 digital preamplifier with a USB DAC. Cables and other products from Synergistic Research will also be featured, and representatives of both manufacturers will be on hand to showcase their products. A raffle is being planned and dinner will be served. Guests, visitors and new members are invited. Parking is free. March: Sunday, March 16th, 2-5 PM: The Los Angeles & Orange County Audio Society will hold its monthly event at Upscale Audio in Upland (2504 Spring Terrace). Kevin Deal, the King of Tubes and proprietor of Upscale Audio, will address the society and demonstrate a brand new, state of the art integrated amplifier from PrimaLuna. This will be the U.S. Premier!! The PrimaLuna amplifier will anchor a system that includes the Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolution speakers, VPI HRX turntable, and Lyra Cartridge. Eastwind Import will be there to offer rare jazz and classical LPs and CDs for sale. A raffle is being planned and great lunch will be served. Guests, visitors and new members are invited.
