The 2013 Scunthorpe Rock Open returns tomorrow night for the 2nd Semi Final! Joe & Melv Acoustic duo / vocalist act with intricate guitar melodies and soaring vocals. Entering the competition in the heat stages in the last minute and progressing after no practice this is the surprise dark horse of the Rock Open which shouldnt be taken for granted... Chris Cooper Band The 5 piece indie folk rockers are making waves in all the right places and are tipped for big things! Catchy choruss and good rhythms are sure to bring a smile to your face... Hawk of Fury Ex-Rock open finalists; this act know what it takes to progress through the competition. With epic vocals and metal shredding this band has a raw edginess and has a great loyal fan base. Ashley Palmer Solo guitarist and vocalist Ashley Palmer is a confident and exceptional performer who displays talent and stage presence beyond his years. Ashleys style is heavily influenced by his passion for Welsh act the Stereophonics. Lock up Laura These lads have excellent stage presence and provide a stage show which doesnt disappoint. Clear influences from the Emo Rock and Skate scene this act is certainly heading in the right places with several professional releases and music videos under their belts - if this act continues to progress its looks like poor Laura could be locked up for a while! Peripheral North Lincolnshire act Peripheral come into the competition as highest runners up (replacing The Magic Carpet Factory) Peripheral were unlucky to not progress through their heat after a professional and tight set. These pop punkrs will certainly liven up the stage! So a tough semi final in store with lots of talented musicians! All we need is YOU!
