The 203 rd Annual Conference of The Bahamas/Turks and Caicos Island Mehthodist Church (BTCI) will be held in Freeport, Grand Bahama from January 13- 18 at St Pauls Methodist Church. The Bahamas is a part of the Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas, (MCCA) The MCCA in 1967 was initially composed of 7 Districts, namely; Guyana...., Haiti.... Jamaica,..... Leeward Islands....Panama/ Costa Rica......South Caribbean.....Belize / Houndras. The Bahamas / Turks and Caicos Islands District became a part of the MCCA in 1968. The MCCA was established in 1967, formerly known as the Provinicial Synod of the Western Area of the British Methodist Conference. The first officers of the MCCA conference were President: Rev Hugh P. Sherlock Vice President: Sir Donald Jackson Secretary: Rev Edwin Taylor Treasurer: Mr. J. R. A McDonald Within the MCCA there are 4 main tiers of Church Government 1. Connexional Conference 2. District Conference 3.Circuit Council 4. Congregational Council The District/ Conference meets annually in January of each year and is chaired by the District/Conference President.
