The 23rd AU summit is taking place in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea - TopicsExpress

The 23rd AU summit is taking place in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea from 20th June to 27th June 2014. Whats interesting is that there has been no mention of urgent issues such as the kidnapped Nigerian girls. Have they been forgotten that son? As African Leaders gather in Malabo, DO NOT FORGET BringBackOurGirls, and other human rights related cases. Its 70 days since over 200 girls were abducted in Nigeria by Boko Haram. Different community of nations deployed resources in terms in military and equipments. What is the status of the girls so far? The pertinent question, is what are the African governments (AU) state parties doing to solve this African problem? Has the Africa Standby Force been deployed? Why hasnt the five regional multidimensional Forces of the African Standby Force (ASF) being scrambled? While this remains a fragile situation, due its nature (kidnapping, hostage) I urge us not to forget #BringBackOurGirls. Earlier on, Boko Haram had insisted on swapping the girls for their prisoners, to which the Nigerian government declined. But in increasing volatile times that we live in, and if nations like United States, can agree to swap Taliban prisoners for one of their own soldiers (Bowe Bergdahl) and if Israelis can agree to swap hundreds of soldiers in return for Gilat Shalit, are we too proud to Negotiate? Or look at this problems from all angles? One more in the jungle, one more night in the hands of violent, rapists and murderers for these our girls, is far too many nights. Act now!
