The 23rd Psalm Part 1 School 1993 This teaching is over 80 pages and this is the condensed version. Who are you not to live up to your potential that comes straight out of the mouth of God who created you, but live by man’s interpretations and everything you see? We are created in the image of the Elohim/Creator for a reason and that reason is not to suffer loss in the world, but to “SUBDUE” it = stop the death there and “TAKE” = use Gods Power and Authority in you, DOMINION = rule in it and be in authority over it = MAKE it do what is righteousness and then “TEND” it which means make it better. We can notice the Light of Gods presence in us in so many ways and yet people get stuck “feeling” like theyre not ready, or not worthy, or sin is in their way. How can sin be in your way when Yeshua nailed it to Calvary and destroyed it? God wants you to have feelings, but just not the twisted from His nature kind! But, if you will EXAMINE yourself and BELIEVE God over what you see and what man speaks and then take a step back and ask yourself – “who am I = [seeing carnally and being opposite Gods Name He gave as His everlasting Name] not to do what I am [In unity with Gods Eternal Name] supposed to”? “Who else can offer God what only I can offer and God called me to do”? “What am I doing or not doing that God says the Blood did for man”? “What am I doing wrong or not doing right in developing the nature of Christ I received and dying to the thoughts of the old supposed to be dead nature”? “What am I doing to PURGE my mind from sin thoughts that are not Gods Will for me so I can do thee works of Christ”? “What am I doing to allow my true nature that is hid “IN CHRIST” to reveal itself”? Asking what “AM I” is still out of Gods Rhema in you to say “I AM” here to reveal God! There are many more things you need to ask God, but the most important is why His word says what it does and why all you believe is what matches the troubles in the world you are to change with His Spirit and Life Words. Today when you doubt your worthiness, doubt the doubt and then practice the Word! Psalm 95:3-7 For the Lord is the great God and the great King above all gods. In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the hills are His also. The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land. There you have a foundation of whom this One is, with whom we have this relation. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For, He is our God and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep = Kavess or victorious ones of His hand. That idiom, of His hand, means under His care. The hand does the work; the hand is above the sheep; so the idiom means that we are under His care. It also matches the letter “YUD” in His name and to Isaiah 49:16 which refers to Messiah/Yeshua. Look at [Isaiah 48:8-11 & 49:2-4 & 50:8-11 & 11-17] and tell me that God wants man to suffer. No wonder God called the Jews and people today that think He wants man to suffer, “SOTTISH” which means STUPID! Everything in God’s Word is so man can see Him and not the physical. Whether you realize it or not, that is the theme of the 23rd Psalm I intend to reveal the true study of here. This study shows that we are under His care “IF” you get out of the Egypt mindset and Western Hollywood style of Christianity and walk in His provisions of the promise land as seen in Pro. 2:21. I want you to hold that in the back of your mind as we let Gods Word speak from Psalm 23. We are not going to get very far through it this first study; but I will be going back to it again and again, to pick up some of the information that is there. Psalm 23:1 The “Lord” [Yehovah means ever existing and Eternal one and the one who brings to pass] is my “shepherd”[means tender of the flock and the only one to be associated with]; I shall not “want” [means to fail, have lack, have need and be made lower. He makes me “to lie down” [this is referring to your sleep and state of mind always being in peace because you have no problems when you only see Gods provisions] in “green” [the color green means to intercede for and Christ makes intercession for us] pastures [means beautiful home and dwelling place]. Is Gods home and dwelling place full of suffering, pain and loss? If it is, you would be better off going to Hell where Satan can give you rest! This was written by David—who was intimately acquainted with shepherding and sheep and who was called the shepherd king and yet Yeshua/Jesus is referred to as “the good shepherd”. What we are finding out in verse 1 is that David the shepherd also had a Shepherd that was far superior to him. YHVH/Y’hovah, the God of the Old Testament, was Davids Shepherd. I want you to place the emphasis on verse 1, from word to word; and from that, the Word of God and not what man teaches, going to lay the foundation for explaining why the shepherd, David, said what he did in Psalm 23. Verse 1 lays the foundation from which the rest of the psalm is built. Under whose hand do you live? The Lord, he is my shepherd! Do the sheep ever beg the shepherd to protect them from enemies? You immediately have to begin to contrast who is your Boss? Who is your Lord? Who is your Master? Is it the Lord, or is it Baal? Is it Satan? Is it this world? To whom are you looking for your care? I know, it is the next president who will not break all the promises he or she might lie to people to get elected! The president will provide for me so I don’t have to rely on credit cards and bank loans to supply my needs. The Lord/Y’hovah, David says, is my Shepherd. You can begin to see that this psalm is written from the standpoint of the sheep. It is the sheep that is doing the speaking about his shepherd that is better than man’s provisions. If you can get the picture, even in a carnal humanly manner, it is of a sheep looking across the fence at sheep who are under the care of someone else that are sick, ragged, always bawling out in fear, poorly treated, mistreated, allows the wolf to eat a few and our sheep (David is saying the ones that remain in God); (this is supposed to be you and me) is bragging to the other sheep that is across the fence about how YOUR shepherd doesn’t use the same stealing, killing and destroying pain teachings methods as their lord who causes them to see physical only and God way off in the boondocks somewhere instead of watching you. Man sees God as this being that only looks at things in life and says Well, I see the kind of circumstances you have to live in, but I have you there to show you how much I love you and if I provide for your needs, you might turn as the children of Israel did in the wilderness they chose to have to be in because of their DISOBEDIENCE TO ME”. [Exodus 21:1-6] Now, these are the judgments which you shall set before them: If you buy a Hebrew servant. You have been bought with a price and you have become a spiritual Jew regardless of your ethnic background. You are now a spiritual Jew. You are a Hebrew. But you had been a slave to sin. Exodus 21:3-6 If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he comes in married, then his wife shall go out with him. If his master has given him a wife and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her masters and he shall go out by himself. But if the servant plainly says, I love my master, my wife and my children; I will not go out free, then his master shall bring him to the judges. He shall also bring him to the door, or to the doorpost and his master shall pierce his ear with an awl; and he shall serve him forever. The place where this ceremony took place was at the doorpost. It was symbolic of a slave being attached to a house (meaning family, meaning kingdom) and the Blood of Christ being over the door posts which forms the letter “HEI” which is the letter in God’s name and it is His house. As you can see, the ear was involved as that part that was attached to the house as only being able to hear what God is saying to your spirit and that only. Spiritually, being attached to the house, to the Family of God, to the Kingdom of God, has something to do with the ear and why Jesus said to be careful what you hear and His sheep hear His voice and do what He says. Why do you call Him Lord, if you don’t do what He says the Blood provided? It all has something to do with “WHO and WHAT” you are hearing. And faith comes by hearing God and hearing by the Word of God. How you hear the Word of God is going to determine how deeply attached you are to the house, because the just live by His faith and faith comes by hearing. It is not a perfect analogy, but it is something to be aware of. Horse and cattlemen brand their stock, do they not? They get a hot iron and they singe the hide. You cannot do that with a “sheep” because the wool is so thick. Besides that, you will ruin the wool that is there as well. But a sheep man has to put a distinctive mark on his sheep as well so that, at least visually, someone can differentiate them from someone elses. All this God puts you through the fire crap is just that. This is important, because in areas where pasturage is crowded, there will many times be two, three, four and five different flocks that are in the same field. Sheep all look pretty much alike, even to shepherds, although there may be something distinctive. But there is a way a shepherd can tell his sheep from others visually. He takes a sharp knife and he lays the sheep head down on a block of wood, bends it over, spreads the ear out; and he puts his brand in the sheeps ear (usually on the outside so it can be seen). Have you been branded by Gods Word or by the “if it be thy will” translations of man? Do you have Gods mark in your mind because His Word has come into your ears and you are hearing it, applying it, walking in the results of it with Gods understanding and with discernment or just make excuses that even the world lost people don’t claim against God? There is an interesting thing as I mentioned before about sheep. Sheep cannot talk and that is why Holy Spirit gave Gods sheep the spirit language called tongues. As usual, it is man who thinks they know more than God and fight over what God put there in the original Hebrew and not the Greek translations of man that came some 250 years later by the Roman Catholics, with their own useless thinking that man adopted because it appeals to the flesh. The shepherd can put a mark on the sheeps ear, but sheep can do something very well. Turn with me to John 10 again. This is the way Gods sheep will be as well. John 10:3-4 To him the doorkeeper [behold I stand at the door and knock and this was written to the church] opens and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out!! And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. What does He lead them out of and then just throws them back into in order to teach? The shepherd has to put a mark on the sheep, but the sheep have to have the mark in his mind that is to be renewed from old sin thinking to Righteousness of God thinking. He recognizes his masters voice, not the preacher that they only accept as telling them the truth. This is one of the things I learned with the sheep, because my wife and I shared the responsibility of feeding the sheep in the morning. They had reasonably good pasture to forage in, but we made sure that every morning we fed them a mixture of really good grains, corn, oats, we mixed molasses within it and put a little bit of salt within it as well. They had a very nice mixture. Those sheep liked that. They would give up grass any day for the fodder we gave them in the morning and that is what God wants to do with man. It is MY responsibility to make sure what I am being fed matches the provisions God says His Blood provides. If not, it gets tossed out for the pigs who like anything to eat. All I had to do was walk out of the house I lived in, walk out to the pasture where they were, regardless of where they were in that field and say, Come. They came running regardless of what they had been eating before I called. They knew my voice, like we are to know Gods voice over mans. They knew my wifes voice, too. They could even differentiate between the two of our voices Like the difference between Fathers voice and Holy Spirits voice and the next door neighbors. They understood the time of the day, they knew the voices; and sometimes came even though we never called out but simply because they KNEW us over anyone else. We had another signal too and sometimes I would see whether or not they would come without my calling. All I had to do was rattle the pan with a spoon. That never disappointed me a bit, because it was not me they were coming for, it was the food I was giving them. Are you eating Gods food or the slop from man’s excuses? I think you will understand that analogies such as this in Psalms 23 only go so far, because you and I are human beings and we ALL need to be absolutely sure that what we hear and the voice we hear, is not according to the denominational training we were taught by man. We are thinking humans in Gods image. An animal, of course, is not. On some occasions there are responses required from the human sheep that one would not get from an animal. When I say response, I am talking about responsibility that must be on our part if this cooperative effort between our Shepherd and us is going to work. We have to understand that only through this cooperative effort with what God says over what man says is going to get the most expert care available for deliverance. Our part is to work Gods supply to something else to change it to His conditions He is living in. Turn with me to Philippians 4. This has something to do with hearing and understanding; but it is something that each and every one of us is capable of, because God will give us the resources to be able to do this. Philippians 4:11-13 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content [supplied with more than is required to get the job done. That is what I am talking about here. Man sees the word content as not making a fuss and accepting death as from God to teach. It come from man not doing a word study and correcting the liar in the pulpit that says “God will not allow you to be tempted above that which you can handle” and they stop there and leave out the God delivering part. If I lived my life according to these lying devils, I would have been dead and so would all my family! Paul says, “I know how to be abased [because if I am there I have Gods Word to bring me out] and I know how to abound [be blessed by the Truth I sow so I can meet other people’s needs and give them Gods truth. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry [apply Gods seed in all conditions], both to abound and to allow need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me [Truth is the only thing that can give man strength, not loss, pain, suffering and darkness]. More in part 2 Prophet Joe
