The 3rd Annual Operation Recruit Enlistment Dinner (OP RED) was held at the Saint Martins University Marcus Pavilion on May 6. The purpose of OP RED is to gather community leaders, local mayors, and military leaders to honor and celebrate Pierce and Thurston County High School students who have made the decision to join the Armed Forces. During the evening, five local mayors served the food and all of the recruits recited the Oath of Enlistment in front of their friends and family members. Local military recruiters play a significant part in the planning process. Carlene Joseph (Harborstone VP of Military Relations) chairs the planning and fundraising committee.
