The 5G Infrastructure Association represents the private party of the 5G Public and Private Partnership (5G-PPP) targeting to roll out 5G plans globally with expected speed of 5Gbps ultra-fast mobile internet. Various companies from all over the world are working with 5G-PPP association to bring 5G infrastructure to the masses in near future. The association has a fund of €1.4 billion which is a joint initiative between the European ICT industry and the European Commission, aiming at materializing the next generation of communication networks that will deliver universal super-fast connectivity for Europe and globally. The expected targets and challenges in the extension of the plan would be to provide thousand times higher wireless infrastructure and to save up to 90% more energy. One of the associate member, Ericsson, has tested the successful test of 5Gbps speed in lab and expected to launch commercially not before 2020.
