The 7th annual King of the Court Men’s Volleyball Tournament was held at Jay M. Robinson High School on Wednesday, October 29. It served as a fundraiser for the Northeast Medical Breast Health Center with a goal to raise $15,000 for women that cannot afford breast cancer treatment. 9 Cabarrus County high schools were involved in the tournament. cfa Academy won the junior class division, going undefeated throughout the tournament. The coaches were the cfa Academy Varsity Volleyball Team juniors: Emily Golden, Emma Brooks, and Emma Nichols. The junior players were: Jonathan DeJesus, Connor O’Donnell, Ryan Pace, Nico Payne, David Riley, Connor Seeman, and Cole Watkins. The cfa Academy senior team won the senior class division as well! The coaches were the varsity volleyball seniors: Rachel Muolo, Miranda Golden, Bryanna Zwick, and Ramesha Bennett. The senior players were: Matthew Griffin, Corbin Hoffman, Sean Hutchinson, Marques Manns, Charles Minlend, Matthew Penland, Matthew Stancil, Vojin Todovoric, Roberto Vargas, and Matthew Wheet. This is the first time any school has won both the junior and senior tournaments!
