The 9 vs. 9 Border War #Saints (1-2) at #Cowboys (2-1) #NOvsDAL, 7:30 PM Central on NBC Although this matchup features teams from bordering states, the stadiums are nearly eight and a half hours apart. The fans of these teams are much closer, in the dislike department. As the football world waits all day for Sunday Night Football on the Peacock, QB play will determine who comes out on top between New Orleans and Dallas. Drew Brees has not gotten off to the pass happy, prolific start that he is accustomed to having. The completion percentage is off the charts at 71%, but five TDs to two INTs lacks a bit of luster. At this point last season, Brees had more INTs (four), but also had more TDs (six). Saints fans, give it some time, Brees is without Darren Sproles (now with #Eagles) and Lance Moore (now with #Steelers) and those guys were familiar targets to throw the rock to. WR Brandin Cooks was a steal in the first round of the draft and his production will be counted on against a porous Cowboys secondary. Brees’ ticket to a W will come in exposing the middle of the field with TE Jimmy Graham roaming up the seams. Everyone knows the plight of Tony Romo’s career. Good quarterback, just goes “Uh Oh” at the wrong times. Last week at St. Louis, Romo was spot on with leading his team back from a 21-0 deficit to win and go to 2-1. In tonight’s matchup vs. New Orleans, Romo will face a struggling Rob Ryan defense who hopes Romo reverts back to the turnover prone QB that has melted in late game pressure situations. The question for the Saints defense is, who will contain Dez Bryant? Keenan Lewis, Corey White and Patrick Robinson…good luck with trying. Now would be as good a time as any for Jason Witten to appear. The recipe for the winner of this game is simple, the QB to finish with a higher completion percentage and fewer turnovers, the fans of these neighbors will have a great Sunday Night. Points will be at a premium.
