The most common adverse effects associated with dimethyl fumarate are flushing, abdominal pain, nausea and diarrhea. The cited reference notes that potentially serious lymphopenia can occur and that mean lymphocyte counts can decrease by approximately 30% during the first year of treatment with this drug.
