The AAP should take up the issue of amending the IPC to decriminalize the LGBT way of life. The LGBT community are human beings just like you and I. They are only differently abled in their companionship preferences. The LGBT have beautiful hearts, soul & mind and are as accomplished as you and I. They should not be discriminated and marginalised solely on the basis of their companionship preferences. The Supreme Court has only interpreted the position of law. The Parliament has to change the law. In the AAP application form for membership there is a provision for indication Others in the gender column. In the EPIC & in the Aadhar application there is a column to indicate gender as Others. In spite of recognizing & allowing the gender to be indicated as Others in these important identity documents, why are we hesitant to amend the law to enable the decriminalization of LGBT companionship preferences. Will the AAP take this issue to amend the law ? What is the opinion of the members of the AAP on this matter ?
