Many patients think of their hygiene appointment as “only a cleaning.” Make them more aware of all of the services you can provide as part of the hygiene appointment—periodontal probing, oral cancer screening, radiological exam, fluoride treatment, scaling and root planing, education, and, of course, prophylaxis—and they will schedule their appointments more regularly.
