The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexi was BANNED from some schools?? WTH?? I am SO glad I am not a parent of a school aged child anymore, this is getting ridiculous. And, I am also glad I taught my son to stand up in school and point out their errors, prejudices and superiority. Our young people need to learn about others in the world so they are no Xenophobic of everyone around them, and learn to be part of the world, not stuck in their own little hole somewhere (no matter how many picket fences it has). Sorry for the rant, but as a federally-enrolled Native American, it gets very tiring to see any truth about our people, our history and our current culture continually thrown out of schools. SMH
