"The African National Congress congratulates the Progressive Youth Alliance (PYA) in general and the South African Students Congress (SASCO) in particular on resounding and overwhelming victories recorded in the recent Student Representative Council (SRC) elections held around the country." Although I appreciate the congratulations given to SASCO by the our beloved ANC but I have a problem with this statement, as I do not think the ANC should be congratulating the PYA at any given time for winning elections as if its a welcomed thing. Reality is that the reason why we are having the so called united PYA contesting elections in university is through the unbecoming behavior of YCL and ANCYL contesting SASCO in its terrain. The ANC should address its youth wing on it not contesting SASCO. It has been proven in UWC that SASCO does not need to contest under the banner of PYA for it to win elections overwhelmingly.
