The Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States has thanked the Lithuanian-American Community for its active support of a petition drive calling on the White House to officially designate Russia as a „State sponsor of terrorism“. The petition was initiated by a Russian-born American businessman living in the United States since 1992. Putins undeclared war and aggression against Ukraine is a deep embarrassment to me and many others with Russian heritage”, says Alex Konanykhin, who believes that the first step in dealing with the problem is calling it by its proper name – international terrorism. Specifically, armed operatives of Russia, acting under disguise, are attempting to influence the policy of the Ukrainian government by intimidation or coercion, through assassinations and kidnapping, taking by force government buildings, police posts and military bases of Ukraine.
