The Baitul Salaam Network, Inc.-International denounces the implication that Islam supports the horrific and vile actions attributed to the group Boko Haram in northern Nigeria. It is not Islamic to do what has been done and continues to be done to approximately 300 girls and their families in northern Nigeria. Our girls and women all over the globe deserve the very, very best of treatment from all. Islam does not teach nor condones abuse of any type especially to harm women and children. It teaches against it! Our prophet Muhammad (SAW) was not known to harm anyone. The only exception to this was in times of war and only on the battle field. Hurting innocent people is totally unislamic. Our prophet Muhammad (SAW) was never known to be unjust, cruel and taught against this type of behavior in the first Islamic community established over 1,400 years ago. All Muslims around the globe should be outraged! All Muslims around the world should be speaking out and against this hijacking of our way of life and this misrepresentation and mockery of our way of life.
