The Bergen-Passaic Freshman/Sophomore Championship organizers announced they were informed yesterday by the Bergen-Passaic Fencing League that promised League funding of $2,400 was being withdrawn for the tournament that is scheduled less than two weeks from now. The League said that there were not enough contributions by member schools to meet their commitment and that they had realized it just now because of an oversight. Unfortunately, this means the 250 registered competitors will be without a tournament this season.
