The Best Christmas Ever! Let me tell you why. This wasnt about gifts, money, heartwarming stories of generosity, or even the incredible prime rib my sweet Aunt Sue made for dinner. This is about life. In particular about the life of someone I love and admire. This is about my father. Earlier this year doctors told my Dad that he wouldnt live to see Christmas and they sent him home to die. Well Im happy to say my Dad is very much alive today and doing pretty good when you consider how bad the prognosis was only a few short months ago. Like any father and son, my Dad and I have had our disagreements and issues over the years but none of that seems very relevant in the grand scheme of things. My Dad and I will definitely agree that doctors arent always right and each day is a gift, in this case a Christmas gift that you just cant put a value on. That being said, let me not diminish that delicious prime rib or the incredible knife my Uncle Mike entrusted to me that once belonged to my Grandpa. I hope all of you got to experience just a bit of the kind of joy and happiness I feel today. Gratitude for life and appreciation for the things that matter, not the things that are bought.
