The Bharatiya Janata Party made a clean sweep in Narendra Modi’s turf Gujarat, winning all of the 26 seats, a clear indication that Modi’s loyal voter’s were more than enthusiastic about their 3-time chief minister’s national plans. Even the small parties and independent candidates, who usually manage to be the cause of the fall of seasoned political parties and leaders, failed to derail the BJP. Some of the key constituencies saw the BJP winning straight, even though there were number of competitors including candidates from parties like the AAP, Congress, BSP, JD(U) and others.
