The Bible gives us a good amount of information about the character of God. It refers often to his attributes of holiness, love, righteousness, and justice. There are some unmentioned adjectives about the Lord implied in the stories of people who, like us, struggle with everyday situations in life. The account of God using Moses to part the Red Sea for his children to be able to escape their persecutors shows us God is real. Haven’t we all been in a place where there seemed to be no way out and God did something for us we hadn’t realized he could do? The tale about the widow of Zarephath who had almost run out of food until Elijah showed up with supernatural provision touches our hearts with the knowledge that God is relevant. He cares about our every need and provides for us completely. If you haven’t experienced the reality and relevance of a God who is concerned about every aspect of your life, why not ask Him to show you these aspects of his personality today? Expect him to show up in a way you may not have anticipated. “Call to me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
