The Biblical Mirror Part - 4 Proverbs 20:27 -- The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart. In the Biblical Mirror, Jesus urges us to love our enemies. Not just Love your neighbor which in itself can be a difficult thing, but love your enemies. This is a very powerful message, and one of the greatest challenges in life. No person has natural feelings of love for an enemy. So what Jesus is telling us is hard. In fact, without Gods supernatural help, it is impossible. But God gives us the power to do whats right, even when we dont feel like it. So relying on Gods strength and direction, we make a decision and follow up on that decision of loving my enemies. We put aside any wrongs they have done to us and love them as fellow human beings. When the people around us, observe that our reaction towards our enemies are filled with love, they realize that we have changed, and this change has come about because we have seen the Biblical mirror. Does a man with stubble on his face, after looking in the physical mirror, pray to God for it to be gone? No, he takes action. He gets hold of his razor and shaves it off. Similarly when we read in the Biblical mirror that Jesus wants us to love our enemies, we must act accordingly. We have to renew our minds according to the Biblical mirror. Once the mind is renewed, it gives a command to the body to act in a particular manner. Hence our whole life is governed by the way we think in our minds. Jeremiah 23: 29 - Is not my word like a fire? says the Lord, And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? When we decide to obey the Biblical mirror, and love our enemies our senses will be convincing us not to do so as this may project us as weak humans who will be taken advantage off. Love them anyway, because when you obey the Word of God, and act accordingly, you will be surprised by the freedom you soon feel from not being enslaved to the anger you feel towards your enemies. So take Jesus at His Word and trust Him to help you love your enemies. God has spoken infallibility in the Biblical mirror. All we need to do is obey and every one of Gods promises will be ours.
