The Brahmin hotel owners heart remains as flexible as his back. For me, never having been to India, its still hard to imagine how loving people can maintain the caste system at all. India has little right to its claim as a Democracy, if the hearts of the people still are compartmentalized - matter of fact, same is true of America, if we cannot see the poor, the addicted, the disfigured, the mentally infirm, as deserving in the same way we see Bill Gates as deserving, then our hearts are smoked, and not in a good way.
