The Building of the Third Temple The Temple Institute is dedicated to elevating public awareness in preparation for the building of the Third Temple. Rabbi Chaim Richman, director of the Temple Institute, speaking about the work being done at the institute, says preparation for the Temple has reached to such a stage that the reconstruction of the vessels to be used in the Temple are currently taking place. But, what is the Bible Prophecy significance of this Third Temple and the advanced stage of preparations to rebuild it? Here are two reasons: 1. This is the rebuilt Jewish Temple that the Jews will have permission to rebuild as part of the conditions of the Peace Treaty which the Antichrist will confirm/sign between the Jews and the Muslim nations to mark the beginning of the 7-year Tribulation on earth (Daniel 9:27; Isaiah 28:14-15; Jeremiah 30:7). The confirmation and signing of the Peace Treaty by the Antichrist will happen only after the Rapture. The significance lies in the fact that if preparations are at this advanced level, the Rapture is not far away. You should better keep your eyes and ears open, looking up and expecting the soon sounding of the Trumpet (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). 2. This is also the rebuilt Jewish Temple which the Antichrist will walk into at the Midpoint of the 7-year Tribulation to declare himself God. From 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, we read, Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. We know that this event takes place at the halfway mark of the 7-year Tribulation on earth because we are told in Daniel 9:27, Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; BUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WEEK He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate. One week in the prophetic calendar or Israel is 7 years. Again, the significance lies in the fact that advanced developments in the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple is an indication of the time frame we have entered into. This is the time frame for preparations for Tribulation events. Since the Rapture occurs before the Tribulation, the onset and advancement of preparations for Tribulation events is a strong and powerful indicator that we are on the threshholds of the occurrence of the Rapture.
