The C4ISR Field Engineering team has an immediate need for a UNIX Systems Administrator (Req #42004BR) to work in Alexandria, VA to support the installation and maintenance of the I-495 Capital Beltway Highway Toll Program for the VA Dept of Transportation. If interested please log onto raytheon/careers and formally apply The System Administrator is responsible for IT system administration services to the Capital Beltway Tolling and Traffic Management System, which includes: · Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. · Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. · Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Requirements: · 4+ years experience as a Systems Admin, with experience in LINUX (preferably Red Hat) · Experience in programming & scripting languages (shell scripts, perl) · JAVA Technology (J2EE, JSP, JDBC) · Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair systems related problems. · BS Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field
