The CCSO recently investigated: * a first-degree assault at Smallwood Village Center. A 21-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound to his ankle and was transported to a hospital for treatment but would not provide additional information about the assault. Witnesses reported a silver or dark-colored vehicle may have been involved. * a report of suspicious activity that occurred on Bannister Circle near Brightwell Court in Waldorf. Two girls were walking along the road when a man driving a sedan stopped and asked if they wanted to get in the car. The girls declined and the man drove away. * and a residential burglary in the 3800 block of Pine Cone Circle in Waldorf.
