The Calgary Warriors have the weekend off. Their next game is Nov 2nd against the Lethbridge Jr Eagles. There are eight games in the AJFHL this weekend. Four Saturday and four on Sunday. Sherwood Park plays Lethbridge, The Calgary Titans face off against the Fort Saskatchewan Fury and lastly the Medicine Hat Hounds play against the Edmonton Wolves and rounding out the day is Red Deer hosting Banff. On Sunday the Calgary Titans visit the Irma Chargers. Lethbridge will host the Edmonton Wolves, Medicine Hat hosts Sherwood Park and Red Deer will pay a visit to Thorsby. With the weekend off, Red Deer and Lethbridge have opportunities to catch up to the Warriors in the south standings. The Warriors currently have 10 points and both Lethbridge and Red Deer have 6 points. Technically Banff leads the South and the league with 12 points. Banff is an Academy for girls in grades 10-12. While they are in first, their points dont actually count nor do they compete for the AJFHL championship. Banff and the AJFHL currently have an agreement which allows Banff to play in the league. The purpose is to give Banff the ability to play more games over their season and also add more competition into the AJFHL. The weekends results will be posted concluding Saturday and Sundays games. The Warriors game against Lethbridge is Nov 2nd @ 6:15pm at ECTAS. The Warriors played Lethbride in the pre-season and beat them by a score of 3-2. The Warriors were down 2-1 after the first period but managed to tie the game up in the second period. Finally with 10 minutes left in the third period, the Warriors took the lead and scored the game winning goal. The Jr Eagles are currently one game above .500. That could change as they have two games over the weekend. GO WARRIORS GO!!!!
