The Chorley ladies team was very low on numbers at the 3rd North of England Track and Field event in Stockport. Youngster Holly Brooks took useful points in the Hammer(3), Discus(4) and Shot(2B), supported by Eluned Smith who jumped and threw her way to two 4th places, a 3rd and a 5th in the Long Jump, Triple Jump , Discus and Shot respectively (whilst also trying to entertain two young sons). Bolu Olufon won his 100m B race, plus 2nd and 5th in the 200m and Long Jump. Andrew Ramsey took a couple of 3rds in the 100m and 200m, plus a second in the Hammer B. John Wright and Marco Sciacca took valuable points in the Hammer, Discus and Javelin. Rick Cordwell came 2nd in the 400m, followed by a 6th in the Shot before he turned his ankle in the High Jump. Ryan Sciacca raced to 2nd in 800m, plus good placings 400m and Shot. Brother Adam just missed a PB in the 5K, but got 3rd in the Long Jump B. The mens team also came 3rd in a couple exciting 4x100 and 4x400m relays. Injured Simon Townsend managed to get some points in the 800m and javelin. Thanks also to the Chorley officials and supporters.
