The Citizens Voice is putting together a special section in which reporters will profile some amazing children who are 17 years old or younger. The ideal candidate is a smart, dedicated and inspiring child who is accomplished beyond his or her years and exhibits a drive to excel. The children we have profiled in past years have overcome obstacles and devoted their time and talents to helping others. They are artists, academics, volunteers, athletes and others whose accomplishments sometimes skirt the spotlight but are worthy of recognition and praise. You can check out our 2013 Amazing Kids at citizensvoice/news/kids Nominations are open through Sept. 26. To nominate a child for the Amazing Kids special section, email cbaress@citizensvoice or call 570-821-2057. Nominations should include the following information: - Childs full name, age, school, grade and hometown. - Explanation of what makes the child an ideal candidate for the Amazing Kids section. - Contact information for the person submitting the nomination (this information will be used to verify the nomination and for follow-up questions regarding the nomination).
