The Claudias Cause Celebration Family Fun Race Day was a huge success :-) The opening race, The Friends of Claudias Cause Novice Hurdle was a spectacular race and made the perfect opening.....especially as Claudias horse won. We put all of her betting money on Collodi, horse number two. We didnt bet each way, we went straight for a win and it won!!!!! We were ecstatic and we went to watch the presentation of the cup and we were invited into drink champagne with the owners. Its a local horse, the owners are from Cleethorpes and it is trained locally too so a wonderful opener. We unfortunately missed race two entirely, Abigails horse came last in race three, however, the horse I chose won. After that, we had the winner on three of the following four races and one second place......so we had an exceptional run of luck! We met so many wonderful people, the sun was shining all day long and the massive highlight, was choosing the best turned out horse for race five and Abigail presenting the winners cup with Esme, our friends and of course, Dr Sophie Wilne. The entire day was just an absolute joy, the racing was superb, we had so many winners but the sunshine, the crowds, the atmosphere, just everything was incredible and on top of that, the buckets and tubs which people very kindly donated into for Claudia as requested by the racecourse, collected just short of £850 so once again, a massive thank you for everyones generosity. We have a dvd of the opening race and we will try to find a way of uploading it, so everyone can watch the Claudias Cause race which was sponsored by the wonderful followers or perhaps I should say friends of this page and by us xx
