The Clown Parade that is the Republican House of Representatives continues to amaze. Here, Rep. Doug Lamborn of Colorado (who serves on the Armed Services Committee) urged generals in the Pentagon to resign in order to protest the way Obama is handling the war, as a way of destabilizing the military, interfering with foreign policy, and undermining Obama of course, the only thing Republicans have tried to do in the last six years. During the Bush war(s) we were of course told it was treason to not support the President in times of war. (The context -- House Leader John Boehner refuses to allow a vote on the war to come to the floor of congress until early next year -- he is blatantly avoiding stepping into his role, that is, leading congress into an open and public deliberation about the merits of this war and, as the constitution explicitly states, declare war or not, something only congress can do. All this, again, to obviously stick it to the president. If the war flops its all his fault. And they say Obama is the one violating the constitution. Hmmm.)
