The Conference Tournaments start today, and I’m EXCITED!!! So may great match-ups, and potential for some ‘instant-classic’ games. ACC: Easily the most unpredictable conference this year. Will we see Boeheim vs. Coach K III? Will UNC/Duke add another chapter to their incredible rivalry? Will Virginia storm their way to an ACC title? Big Ten: We’re used to seeing the MSU Spartans at the top of the Big Ten, but Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin are all having solid seasons. Will Izzo motivate his young men to another title? Will Wisconsin win the tourney and lock up a #1 seed? Will the not-so renowned Pittino coach take the Golden Gophers on a wild ride? SEC: Forget about it. Florida will win easily – give them their #1 seed now! Big 12: Touted as the deepest conference in College Basketball this season, there isn’t a lock for a champion this year. Will Bill Self keep the streak alive this year despite losing Joel Embid? Will Freshman Andrew Wiggins improve his draft stock through domination? Will Marcus Smart and the OSU Cowboys cut the nets this year? Or will Texas, Kansas State, West Virginia, or TCU step up and make a splash? Pac 12: The Pac 12 is quite possibly the weakest of the major conferences. Arizona should be a lock for the tourney title and subsequently a #1 seed. Oregon, Colorado, and UCLA could all challenge for the title. Will the Wildcats handle their business and earn the #1 seed? Mike Berdela notice were not commenting on the Big East right? #doneson I think it’s pretty easy to say that I’m excited for this weekend. Too bad my geographical location is a far cry from reality and real sports – sorry Hockey and the Iditarod.
