The Conservative Government never fails to disappoint… Our government continues to push an agenda that places corporate profits over indigenous land rights and the well being of communities and the environment. Being active members of a democracy we have, voted, signed petitions, sent in letters and raised our collective voice in the streets yet our voices have fallen on deaf ears. So today across the province people went into MPs offices to tell the conservative government enough is enough. If they do not listen to the demands of the very people they are supposed to represent they are no longer needed in office. Instead of listening to our concerns MPs across the province made the ultimate showing of cowardice and failed to even show up to work. The people came to participate in democracy the and government officials took the day off. Our democracy is flawed and its time for us as a people to fix it. This is not about one pipeline or one industry this isnt even about the environment. This is about fixing a sickness within our society. Im tired of seeing this government justifying destructive development under the guise of job creation. Yes there is money in oil and gas and there are jobs in large industrial developments but the social implications that accompany the isolation and materialism of these jobs far out way the benefits. So to the Conservative Government…We have given you the opportunity to listen and respond to our concerns…your eviction notices have been served. Comply with their conditions and be prepared for the people to reclaim our democracy.
