The DC for Alert/Emergency Relief has personally sent me an sms requesting support from our club in the form of RM200.00 as the letter below shows. Dear Presidents of Region 3, 4 & 5, I am Lion Wesley Er, District Chairperson for Alert / Emergency Relief. It is my pleasure to write to you in person to seek your support to create public awareness of general health and safety as well as to provide disaster relief and humanitarian aid in the event of disaster. In order to respond effectively during disaster and emergency, we are forming an Alert Working Committee in R3, R4 & R5. I wish to appeal to each Club President to appoint a Standing Organizational Chairperson for Alert so that we could respond to disaster and emergency in the timely manner. Alert Committee will be taking part in Lions Open Day to be held on 19th Oct. We are taking this opportunity to reinforce our partnership with St John Ambulance, with whom we had signed an MOU on 25 Feb 2012. Alert Team is currently working closely with Bomba KL to promote national safety in term of fire prevention and rescue for our communities. During Lions Open Day, St John Ambulance will be giving educational talk on First Aids course and conducting the live CPR Demonstration. Bomba KL will be giving Fire Prevention Talk and organizing the Fire Prevention game for children (Please refer to the attached pictures). We believe that our smart partnership with St John Ambulance and Bomba KL will bring much benefit to the public during Lions Open Day. Thus, we would like to seek the support from each club to join this Alert Joint Project during Lions Open Day where we will sponsor 3K Club children to be involved in the Fire Prevention Game. The project fund collected will be paid for the transportation and foods for the children. We request each participating club to contribute RM 200 for the joint project.
