The Darley Cricket Club had great success in our Junior Ranks in recent years, wining 4 successive Melton Junior Cricket Association Under 12 Premierships, and 2 successive Ballarat CA Under 14 Premierships in 2011/12 and 2012/13. There is a lot of very talented cricketers coming through the ranks at the Club and I am sure the club is about to enter into a very exciting era. At Senior level reigning BCA Cleary Medallist Matt Cape has stood down as Coach due to growing business commitments, but we are delighted to advise that thankfully Matt will be continuing to serve the Club as a player and also filling a critical role on the Committee as Director of Cricket. We are delighted to advise that Terry Moloney has been appointed as the new Senior Coach of the Darley CC, and as part of his role Terry will be working closely with our Junior sides. Terry’s credentials are very impressive, and include: o Level 3 Senior coach o Former Captain / Coach Werribee Cricket Club o Former Captain / Coach Williamstown Cricket Club o Former Captain / Coach Seddon Cricket Club ( VTCA ) o Junior Development Co ordinator Footscray Edgewater CC - 8 years o Dowling Shield Coach 8 years Terry has recently moved to Darley and I am sure you will get the chance to meet him in the near future. The BCA Fixtures have been released, and the Senior season will kick off on Saturday 4th October. We are excited to report that in our ever expanding Junior ranks we expect to field 2 x Under 16 sides in the Ballarat CA Junior competition, 1 X Under 14 side (also in the BCA) and at least 3 x Under 12 sdies in the Melton Junior Cricket Association. Our Junior sides will kick off on either Friday evening 10th October (Under 12s) or Saturday 11th October (Under 14’ & Under 16’s). INVITATION: As mentioned earlier, on behalf the Darley Cricket Club, I would like to invite you to the 2014/2015 Season Launch, which will be held at the Darley CC Social Rooms on Thursday 2nd October 2014 from 6.30pm. All Darley CC sides will in attendance, from our Under 12 Coaches and players through to the new Senior Coach Terry Moloney and the announcement of our 1st 11 side for Round 1. Importantly, for those sponsors who sponsor a Junior side, we’d love you to present each Junior player with his 2014/15 playing shirt. We invite you to enjoy what promises to be a fantastic evening with other DCC sponsors, Media and invited guests. This is an important event to “launch the season” and we hope that you can come along & enjoy the night. Finger Food and refreshments will be provided. The format of the night will be as follows: • 6.45pm: Official Welcome – DCC President Marcus Ingvorsen • 7.00pm: Introduction of Under 12 Coaching Staff and players • 7.20pm: Introduction of Under 14 Coaching Staff and players • 7.30pm: Introduction of Under 16 Coaching Staff and players • 7.45pm: Introduction of Senior coach and Grade Captains • 8.00pm: Announcement of Senior sides We will also have Darley CC Club wear & apparel available for purchase for those who may be interested in doing so on the night – with Eftpos facilities available.
